High blood pressure is experienced by nearly million adults all over the world. Often accompanied by excess weight, high blood pressure is a major risk factor for stroke, congestive heart failure, kidney disease, and the leading killer heart disease. If you are someone who has high blood pressure, the mainstream medical industry wants nothing more than your eternal business, buying their pharmaceutical drugs that never really cure anything. But instead of doing that, try utilizing one of these natural solutions. 

1. Drink Coconut Water to Combat High Blood Pressure 
Coconut water is a tasty and nutritious beverage which has also been shown to be effective at lowering blood pressure. In one study where authors investigated the effects of coconut water when regularly consumed, they found that coconut water was able to significantly lower blood pressure in 71 percent of the study participants. This refreshing beverage has also been shown to rise above sports drinks in hydration while causing not nearly as many stomach pains.

2. Apple Cider Vinegar 
Effectively helping thousands of health ailments such as  strep throat  and  acid reflux, apple cider vinegar is also a fantastic solution for high blood pressure. Just a few tablespoons a day for one month could have a dramatic impact. I have seen people’s blood pressure go from 150/80 to 130/80 in just a month while taking 2 tablespoons of ACV a day. Many others have experienced the same scenario, and blood pressure medications are often chucked. It could help you too.

3. Vitamin D 
Research  points out that  vitamin D  can be an effective solution to  lower blood pressure, promote vascular health by helping blood vessels, and contribute to healthy arteries. While helping to lower blood pressure, this powerful cancer fighter can also protect you from the flu 800% better than any flu vaccine.

4. Aloe Vera, Hibiscus Tea, Cayenne Pepper 
Aloe, cayenne pepper, honey, and tea are all fabulous for helping with a whole host of health problems. 5. Lifestyle

This means avoiding fructose, which has been shown to up the risk of having blood pressure levels of  160/100 mm Hg by 77 percent  with the consumption of 74 grams (2.5 sugary drinks).

6. Fiber Rich Diet
Having a diet that has a huge amount of fiber has been proven to be successful in preventing and treating many different cardiovascular diseases such as Hypertension. However, the effect of different dietary fibre varies. Water soluble gel-forming fibers have the best result in lowering high blood pressure.

7. Sugar Low Diet
The common sugar that we use for cooking increases our blood pressure. This common sugar is called sucrose. The actual mechanism to how sucrose does this is still not fully understood.

8. Instead, people should switch to a diet that is high in potassium (vegetables and fruits) and essential fatty acids. Seven grams of potassium should be ingested daily. The diet should be low in salt, sugar and saturated fat. On the whole, diets should have a big component of vegetables and members of the onion/garlic family.

9. Vegetarian Diet
People who follow a vegetarian diet tend to have both a lower level of blood pressure and lower occurrences of hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases. There vegetarian diet can be a diet that can control blood pressure. Therefore researchers have a hypotesis that it could be that a vegetarian diet contains a greater amount of complex carbohydrates, potassium, vitamin A, polyunsaturated fat, vitamin C, fiber, calcium and magnesium; all of them might have a positive impact on high blood pressure.

10. Low Sodium Level Diet
The key for Hypertension patients to note is that they must avoid foods that have high levels of salt and sodium. People who were not able to get high blood pressure medication in the past resorted to consume a very low salt-reduced, low-calorie "rice diet." Apparently, people were able to lower their blood pressure significantly just by avoiding salt. If you have Hypertension, you must avoid foods that contain huge amount of salt or are highly processed. Examples of such food include fast food, frozen pizza and preserved vegetables.

11. Lose Weight:
Hypertension diets are commonly used to lower high blood pressure. Foods enriched in nutrients, mainly calcium, potassium, magnesium, protein and fiber are recommended to lower it. Decreasing salt and sodium enhanced foods are typically included in all hypertension diets. The key to hypertension diets are foods low fat foods and lean meats, to stop additional weight gain and/or lose extra pounds, and eating grains, vegetables, fruits, and proteins to obtain the proper minerals and nutrients needed in one's daily diet.

12. Cut Back Alcohol:
Save some money at the bar! Decrease the amount of alcoholic beverages consumed daily, if a typical night out consists of 3 drinks, cut it in half, save some money, and naturally lower blood pressure. A healthy amount of alcohol varies based on medical conditions, but a healthy male should consume no more than two drinks per day (24 oz of beer, 10 oz of wine, 3 oz of heavier liquor) a healthy female should cut the male's intake in half.

13. Limit Caffeine:
Make a half of pot of coffee in the morning. Caffeine can raise blood pressure by tightening blood vessels and restricting blood flow to the body. If a typical coffee drinker drinks 2-4 cups per day, cut that amount in half or switch to a decaffeinated brand. Sodas and teas with high levels of caffeine have the same affect on the body. Caffeine also effects people's way of dealing with stress.

14. Reduce Stress:
Take a deep breath, relax, and shrug off what a happened during the rush hour traffic drive home. Learning to deal with stress and maintaining a way to deal with it is important to lower blood pressure naturally. People are put in stressful situations daily, learning how to respond and react to them is important in keeping a clear mind as well as a healthy blood pressure.

15. Start An Exercise Plan:
Exercise is important in everyone's life, more so in a person's life with hypertension. Lowering body fat and increasing blood circulation is critical in lowering blood pressure. This does not mean one needs to get a gym membership, but it does mean there should be some sort of daily physical activity in one's life that they follow and continue until it is back to normal ranges (as told by a doctor, not your own monitor).

7. Ayurvedic Medicine
In Ayurveda, the traditional medicine of India, high blood pressure is treated according to each person’s dosha, or constitutional type.
The pitta type may have a flushed face, red eyes, headaches, light sensitivity, irritability, and nosebleeds.
The kapha type may have excess weight, water retention, high cholesterol, sluggishness.
The vata type may feel cold, have gas, bloating, or constipation, insomnia, or nervousness, worry, or anxiety.

8. Traditional Chinese Medicine
In traditional Chinese medicine, high blood pressure is often attributed to a problem with the circulation of vital energy (qi) in the body. Chinese medicine practitioners believe that depression, anger, obesity, and high intake of fatty foods are some of the causative factors.
A combination of acupuncture and herbs is often recommended. Foods thought to have medicinal properties that may help high blood pressure include water chestnut, turnip, honey, Chinese celery, hawthorn berries, and mung beans.

9. In addition to all of these solutions, living an overall healthy lifestyle with some exercise will also help greatly. This means avoiding fructose, which has been shown to up the risk of having blood pressure levels of  160/100 mmHg by 77 percent with the consumption of 74 grams (2.5 sugary drinks). Maintaining a healthy weight while reducing fructose intake to no more than 20g per day are excellent preventative measures.

10. Eat a Diet with Plenty of Fruits, Vegetables and Grains
Potassium and magnesium found in these foods may help control your blood pressure. Foods that are high in potassium include: bananas, catfish, orange juice, spinach, dried fruit, dried beans and potatoes. Food sources of magnesium include: whole grain breads and cereals, green leafy vegetables and beans.

HYPERTENSION (HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE)
Blood pressure of a person is measured with the help of an instrument called as a 'Sphygmomanometer'. The higher figure is the systolic  pressure that indicates the period of muscular  contraction for pumping the blood. The lower figure indicates the  diastolic  pressure that indicates the resting period between two heartbeats. The normal blood pressure of an individual ranges from 110/70 to 140/90 mmHg. Adding 100 to the age of the individual is the normal blood pressure of that individual. When the blood pressure increases more than the normal values, in more than one reading and in more than one sitting, then it is termed as 'hypertension'. Heredity, stress or  emotional disturbances, faulty style of living and obesity are some of the most common causative factors. Other factors influencing  or aggravating the blood pressure are consumption of too much of salt, fatty food, alcohol and smoking. 

In more than 95% of cases a specific underlying cause of hypertension cannot be found and such patients are said to have essential hypertension. In 5% of the cases, hypertension can be shown to be a consequence of a specific disease or faulty diet (taking a high salt diet, fatty food  or too much of alcohol) and is termed as 'secondary hypertension'. Hypertension is also called as a 'silent killer' since without any warning signs or symptoms, it goes on damaging the internal organs and the person may die suddenly because of its complication. When left untreated, it can lead to atrial fibrillation, ischaemic heart disease, left ventricular failure, stroke, progressive kidney failure and occasionally damage to the eyes . Brisk walking and regular other exercises like swimming, aerobics, cycling, running, etc. are useful to reduce the blood pressure. He or she must develop a calm and cheerful attitude and develop a contented frame of mind. The patient must get at least eight hours of good sleep and try and avoid any kind of mental stress, worries, tension and other disturbing emotions. Losing weight is of utmost importance in obese patients with this complaint. Eat only when you are hungry and avoid eating in between the fixed meal times. Quit smoking completely and limit drinking alcohol to a minimum since it causes the blood vessels to constrict and thus increase the blood pressure automatically.

HOME REMEDIES
1. Animal fats, egg, fatty food, hot and spicy food, hydrogenated oils, meat, refined white flour, salt and sweets should be strictly avoided. Avoid sugar and use pure honey instead. Use rock salt (which is rich in magnesium sulphate) instead of refined salt. Nut butters and margarine is allowed to some extent and oil prepared from sunflower seeds and maize is the best to be used. All types of dry fruits are allowed. Fruits
and boiled vegetables are better than cereals and pulses for this patient.

2. Increase the intake of potassium [found in apricots, avocados, bananas, beans, cantaloupe, dried fruits like prunes (dried plums) and raisins, fish, oranges, peaches, potatoes and tomatoes].

3. Also increase your intake of calcium (found in broccoli, cheese, low-fat milk, sesame seeds, spinach and yogurt) and magnesium (found in nuts, dark green leafy vegetables, peas, seafood and soybeans).

4. Chewing two cloves of garlic daily after meals helps to reduce the blood pressure by dilating the blood vessel. It also slows down the pulse rate and modifies the heart rhythm, besides relieving the symptoms of dizziness, numbness, shortness of breath and the formation of gas within the digestive tract.

5. Onions should be taken daily, even in the form of soups to reduce the blood pressure.

6. Mix a tablespoon  each of fresh Indian gooseberry (amla) juice and honey and take it daily in the morning.

7. Tender coconut water or fruit juices are useful.

8. Bitter gourd (karela), drumsticks (saijan ki phalli), patola and bimbi are the most useful vegetables. They should avoid colocasia and yellow variety of pumpkin. Celery  leaves  (ajwan-ka-patta) is one of the most useful vegetables to be taken by a hypertensive patient since it helps to lower the blood pressure by relaxing the smooth muscle lining of the arteries.

9. Orange, banana, guava and apples are considered very useful for hypertension.

10. Potatoes, especially in the boiled form (boiled with the skin), are rich in potassium but not in sodium salts and so are useful for lowering the blood pressure.

11. Also the magnesium  present in this vegetable exercises beneficial effects in lowering the blood pressure.

12. Eating atleast half a watermelon and lots of grapefruit (chakotra) daily helps to reduce the blood pressure. Also the seeds of watermelon should be dried, roasted and then had.

13. Fresh lemon juice and orange juice is a useful arterial tonic and thus useful for high blood pressure.

14. One gram of Vitamin C, 1000 milligrams of Calcium and 400-600 milligrams of Magnesium per day act as useful supplements to decrease the blood pressure significantly.

15. Soak a few dates overnight in water and then in the morning crush them in the same water (after removing the seeds) and then drink this twice a week.

16. Almond oil can be given in a dose of one-teaspoonful doses at bedtime in a cup of warm milk. It helps in soothing the nerves and thus reduces blood pressure.

17. Drink a glassful of a mixture of carrot (300 ml) and spinach (palak)  or beetroot (200 ml) juice twice daily.

18. Add one to two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and a teaspoon of honey to a glass of warm water and sip it with every meal.

19. Rice is beneficial for hypertensive patients since it has a low fat, low cholesterol and low salt content. Calcium in brown rice soothes and relaxes the nervous system and helps relieve the symptoms of high blood pressure.

20. Take a teaspoonful of powdered fenugreek (methi) seeds in water and a drink of buttermilk with it.

21. Honey and holy basil leaf (tulsi) juice mixed together is a useful drink for hypertension.
